Matar Pulao

Mater pulao simple and easy recipe. 
Matar pulao is a recipe  which  mainly made by rice and green peas. Learn how to cook matar pulao in simple and easy way.

Ingredients
250g basmati Rice
200g matar  (green peas)
Onion finely  chopped  -1
Tomato finely  chopped -1
Clove - 5
Green cardamom - 5-6
Cumin  seeds- 1tsp
Bay leave-1( tejpatta)
Ginger-Garlic pest-2 tsp
Garam Masala -1 tsp
Oil 4-5 tsp
Green coriander leave finely  chopped-1 tsp
Salt to teste

Prepared -15- 20 minuses. 
Cook  time - 18- 20 minutes. 
Serve- 3

How to make  matar ( green peas) pulao

Washed the rice  and Soaked  rice in enough  water for 15-20 minutes .

While rice is soaking prepare other ingredients  for pulao

After soaking  time drain the rice. And keep aside

Heat oil in a saucepan on medium  flame
Once hot add Cumin seeds , bay leave , Clove,  and green  cardamom and saute for a minute  you will  get nice aroma of spices.

Add chopped onion  and cook  till golden brown now add green  chilli , ginger  and garlic  pest. Mix and saute for a minute.

Add chopped  tomatoes. And saute for a minute. Add green  peas and mix well.

Add Soaked drained rice and salt and mix well. Then add Garam  Masala  powder also.

Add water bring the water to a boil, once start boiling turn the heat lowest . Cover the pan with lid cook 18- 20 minutes exactly then turn off the flame.

Let it rest for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes open the lid.

Add coriander leaves. And stir very gently so rice grains do not break.


Serve hot with mint chutney or boondi raita.
