Zarda (sweet rice) recipe










Zarda (sweet rice ) is most famous traditional  recipe  in India. It has yellow  color of rice with khoya and dry fruits that increase  taste  of zarda recipe. Learn how to make this  recipe  easily. 

Ingredients
1 cup basmati rice
3/4  cup sugar
Pinch of cardamon powder
1/2 tsp  yellow food  coloring
10-12 raisin
4tsp peeled and flacks Almonds
2-3 tsp  cashew nuts
100g  khoya
2 tsp pure ghee



How to make  zarda  ( sweet  rice)


Wash the rice and soaked them for about 20-25 minutes.

Take a pan and boil water, add color and cardamom powder to the water. Then add soaked and drained  rice  and boil on medium heat  until the rice  about 90% cooked. Drain and keep aside

Now take a  pan and heat ghee on medium flame then add  clove and raisin when clove start crackling  add boiled  rice on low flame add sugar almonds flacks  and khoya with rice and mix.

After mixing  sugar with  rice  if sugar start leaving  water  turn the flame high to dry the sugar water.

When water is dried out mix the rice very gently. Place on low flame for dam.

Zarda is ready  garnish with khoya and Almonds flacks.
